We have heard a number of rumors over the last week that Apple would be launching a new iPad with 128GB of built-in storage. It is now official, as Apple has announced a 128GB iPad 4 with a Retina Display.
It looks like the rumors on the pricing of the 128GB iPad 4 were correct. The WiFi-only 128GB iPad 4 will retail for $729, and the WiFi and Cellular iPad 4 with 128GB of built-in storage will retail for $929.
Apple® today announced a 128GB* version of the fourth generation iPad® with Retina® display. The 128GB iPad with Wi-Fi and iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular models provide twice the storage capacity of the 64GB models to hold even more valuable content including photos, documents, projects, presentations, books, movies, TV shows, music, and apps.
Enhanced Storage for Professionals and Creatives
The introduction of the 128GB iPad 4 is a significant move by Apple, catering to professionals and creatives who require substantial storage for their work. This new model is particularly beneficial for photographers, videographers, and graphic designers who need to store high-resolution images and videos. Additionally, business professionals who rely on large presentations and documents will find the increased storage capacity invaluable.
For example, a professional photographer can now store thousands of high-resolution photos directly on their iPad, making it easier to showcase their portfolio to clients without needing external storage devices. Similarly, a videographer can store multiple 4K video projects, allowing for on-the-go editing and presentation.
Improved User Experience with Retina Display
The Retina Display on the 128GB iPad 4 enhances the user experience by providing stunning visuals with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. This high-resolution display ensures that images, videos, and text appear incredibly sharp and vibrant. The Retina Display is particularly advantageous for tasks that require precision and detail, such as photo editing, graphic design, and video production.
Moreover, the Retina Display makes consuming media a more enjoyable experience. Watching movies and TV shows on the iPad 4 becomes a cinematic experience, with rich colors and deep contrasts. Reading eBooks and digital magazines is also more comfortable on the eyes, thanks to the crisp text rendering.
Apple will start selling the 128GB version of the iPad 4 online and in their retail stores from next Tuesday, the 5th of February. You can find out more information over at Apple.
