Apple is apparently in talks with smartphone display maker Japan Display Inc about a possible deal between the two companies to launch a new plant to produce iPhone display.
The two companies are apparently in talks regarding a joint investment of 200 billion ye, which is about $1.7 billion, and Apple will apparently invest the majority of the money in the plant.
This new iPhone display plant is said to be proposed in Ishikawa, central Japan, and the plant would apparently be up and running by 2016.
Japan Display mentioned last year that their existing plant was at almost full capacity and they were looking at options to launch a new plant.
Neither Apple of Japan Display Inc have confirmed the deal, as soon as we get some more information, we will let you guys know.
