The Apple AirPower wireless charger was originally announced back in September of 2017, we have been waiting for the device to launch for some time and now it has been cancelled.
We were expecting it to launch some time with the nest few months, Apple has now confirmed that they will not be releasing their AirPower wireless charger.
Apple gave an official statement to TechCrunch which you can see below:
After much effort, we’ve concluded AirPower will not achieve our high standards and we have cancelled the project. We apologize to those customers who were looking forward to this launch. We continue to believe that the future is wireless and are committed to push the wireless experience forward,” said Dan Riccio, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering
The company recently released their AirPods 2 which feature wireless charging, we were expecting the AirPower to launch shortly after these. Apple has obviously had problems with their Apple AirPower wireless charger and of almost two years of trying to sort them out, have decided to cancel the device.
