Google has once again shared the distribution numbers of the Android operating system, revealing how different versions are performing.
According to the latest Android Distribution numbers, Android 5.0 Lollipop is now running on 23.5 percent of devices in the market.
This is a slight improvement over last month’s numbers where the operating system surpassed 20 percent mark. It’s also worth mentioning that the number is a combined figure for both Android 5.0 and Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Coming over to the other versions, Android KitKat is now running on 38.9 percent of devices, falling when compared to the performance last month. It’s still running on a decent number of devices followed by Android Lollipop which is running on 30.2 percent of devices available in the market.
Although Google released the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow at a press event last month, it may take a few months for the operating system to reach existing devices from most manufacturers. Some of the Nexus devices are getting the Marshmallow update, but for high-end flagships, like the Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 5, etc, it may take some time. Some manufacturers have already released the list of devices which will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
We’ll update you as soon as it starts rolling out.
