Amazon Prime subscribers in the UK have a new delivery option that they can use to get their packages the same-day in some locations. The service is an expansion of the Amazon Pick-up Location program and is a partnership between Amazon and Smiths News. Smiths News is a newspaper and magazine distributor.
To begin with, Prime subscribers in the UK will be able to use the same-day service at no additional cost. With the new service orders placed as late as 11:45am will be available to pick up from delivery locations starting at 4pm. When the order is ready for pickup, customers will get an email from Amazon. The packages will be available for pickup until 11:59pm, though that last pickup time could vary depending on when the location the package was delivered to closes.
Another option for those who order packages too late for same day pickup is Express morning collection. Orders placed until 7:45pm will be available for guaranteed collection the next morning starting at 6:30 am and no later than 9am. That early pickup time will vary depending on when the location opens. Non-prime customers will be able to try the new delivery option for £4.99.
