Amazon has been ahead of rivals like Apple and Google with their Alexa virtual assistant enabled devices for some time and now the company has revealed how many Alexa enabled devices have been sold.
The company has now sold more than 100 million Alexa devices around the world, this number was revealed to The Verge by Amazon’s SVP of devices and service Dave Limp.
Whilst Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri may be on lots more devices, Alexa is way ahead in terms of their smart speakers, these are devices that people buy for the virtual assistant. As opposed to iPhones and Android devices which come with these assistant’s built in by default.
Both Apple and Google have been trying to get people to buy their smart home speakers, but Amazon has sold way more devices in this category.
There are now more than 150 different products that come with Amazon’s Alexa built in, this number of course includes devices from third party manufacturers.
