Within Apple’s new Mac OS X Lion developer preview released today a number of great little features have already been discovered that have not been mentioned by Apple. Including a new file sharing feature called AirDrop that allows you to copy files wirelessly from one Mac to another with no setup.
The feature will work by simply dragging files to users names within your address book, then once accepted, the file transfers directly to the person’s Downloads folder.
“With AirDrop in Mac OS X Lion, you can send files to anyone around you – wirelessly,” says Apple. “AirDrop doesn’t require setup or special settings. Just click the AirDrop icon in the Finder sidebar, and your Mac automatically discovers other people nearby who are using AirDrop.”
