To celebrate passing 500 million PlayStation sales worldwide, Sony has today announced a new limited-edition PlayStation taking the form of the 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro. Packaged in a special translucent collector’s box, inside is a translucent dark blue 2TB PlayStation 4 Pro.
“With 500 Million PlayStation systems sold, that means countless adventures into the unknown, courageous stands against evil, and life-long memories of playing with family and friends. Thank you to all our fans for your passionate support over the past 24 years, which made all of this possible.”
When powered up the PlayStation 4 Pro power light lets you glimpse the illuminated interior of the super-charged PS4. Each console has a commemorative copper plate on its front, with its unique limited edition number etched on. Sony will be providing both chances to win the PlayStation 4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition as well as purchase it from select retailers across Europe from 24th August 2018. The wireless controller included with the PS4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition will also be made available to purchase separately in select markets on the same date, 24th August 2018 priced at €64. Sony has also unveiled a commemorative Gold Wireless Headset 500 Million Limited Edition, sporting the same dark blue translucent design with copper detailing which will be available from October 11th, 2018 onwards priced at €89 or $99.99 or $119.99 CAD.
