Apple launched their new 16 inch MacBook Pro recently, the device comes with a new design for the keyboard, an updated display, and the latest Intel Core processors.
We have already seen a number of videos featuring the new MacBook Pro and now we have a review video from iMore that gives us a good look at Apple’s latest MacBook and some of its features.
Keyboard Redesign
Apple made some significant changes to the keyboard in the new MacBook Pro. They got rid of their butterfly keyboard and re-introduced a new version of their scissor keyboard. The butterfly keyboard had caused a number of issues for some users, including keys that would stick or fail to register presses. The new scissor mechanism, which Apple calls the “Magic Keyboard,” aims to provide a more reliable and comfortable typing experience. It features a physical Escape key, inverted-T arrow keys, and 1mm of key travel, which many users find more satisfying.
Performance and Storage Options
The new MacBook Pro starts at $2,399 in the US and it comes with up to 8TB of storage if you go for the top model. This high-end configuration will set you back $6,099 with all the upgrades. The base model includes a 2.6GHz 6-core 9th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage. For those who need more power, there are options to upgrade to a 2.4GHz 8-core 9th-generation Intel Core i9 processor, up to 64GB of RAM, and up to 8TB of SSD storage.
The 16-inch Retina display has a resolution of 3072×1920, offering a pixel density of 226 ppi. This display supports the P3 wide color gamut and features True Tone technology, which adjusts the white balance to match the color temperature of the surrounding light for a more natural viewing experience.
The new MacBook Pro also features AMD Radeon Pro 5000M series graphics with up to 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, providing excellent performance for tasks like video editing, 3D rendering, and gaming. The improved thermal architecture includes larger impellers, more blades, and bigger vents, which help to keep the system cool even under heavy workloads.
