If you are in the market for a miniature desktop PC, you might be pleased to know that Zotac has this week unveiled a new model in their popular ZBOX range in the form of the Zotac ZBOX Nano AD10, which measures just 127mm x 127mm x 45mm.
The mini desktop PC is powered by an AMD “Brazos” E-350 APU Platform with Discrete-Class AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics and comes complete with a newly added integrated infra-red receiver with bundled Windows Media Center compatible remote control, together with a USB IR receiver. Its design also includes a DDR3 SO-DIMM slot and space for a 2.5-inch SATA 6.0 Gb/s hard drive or a solid state drive (SSD).

Enhanced Features for Versatile Use
The Zotac ZBOX Nano AD10 is designed to cater to a wide range of users, from home theater enthusiasts to those needing a compact yet powerful computing solution. The inclusion of the integrated infra-red receiver and the bundled remote control makes it an excellent choice for a home theater PC (HTPC). This feature allows users to control their media playback seamlessly, even if the device is hidden away or wall-mounted, thanks to the dual IR receiver solution.
Carsten Berger, marketing director at ZOTAC International, explains:
“There was a lot of demand for a bundled remote with our mini-PCs so we listened and engineered a solution that would work for all home theatre PC installation scenarios,” – “Our dual IR receiver solution enables use of the remote control with all placements, including hidden and wall-mounted installations.”
Technical Specifications and Expandability
The ZBOX Nano AD10 is not just about compact size and media control; it also offers robust technical specifications. The AMD “Brazos” E-350 APU Platform is known for its energy efficiency and decent performance, making it suitable for everyday computing tasks as well as media consumption. The Discrete-Class AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics ensure smooth video playback and can handle light gaming and graphic-intensive applications.
The device includes a DDR3 SO-DIMM slot, allowing users to expand the memory up to 8GB, which is more than sufficient for most applications. Additionally, the space for a 2.5-inch SATA 6.0 Gb/s hard drive or SSD provides flexibility in storage options. Users can opt for a traditional hard drive for more storage space or a solid-state drive for faster data access speeds and improved overall system performance.

Connectivity and Additional Features
The ZBOX Nano AD10 also boasts a variety of connectivity options, making it a versatile addition to any setup. It includes multiple USB ports, HDMI output for high-definition video, and Ethernet for wired internet connectivity. Additionally, it supports Wi-Fi, allowing for wireless internet access, which is particularly useful in home theater setups where cable management can be a concern.
Unfortunately, Zotac hasn’t released any information about shipping dates or prices as yet. However, given the features and specifications, the ZBOX Nano AD10 is poised to be a competitive option in the mini-PC market.
