We have been hearing quite a bit about the Meizu MX over the last few months, and Meizu has just confirmed that their latest Android smartphone will go on sale in China in January next year.
We now get to find out the final specifications on the device, it will come with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, although Meizu has said that it will get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at a later date.

Hardware Specifications and Features
Hardware wise, the Meizu MX features a dual core 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos 4210 processor, 1GB of RAM and a 4 inch ASV touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 640 pixels. This combination of hardware ensures that the device will be able to handle most tasks with ease, from browsing the web to playing games and running apps smoothly. The 4-inch display, although not the largest by today’s standards, offers a crisp and clear viewing experience, making it suitable for watching videos and viewing photos.
The device also includes an 8 megapixel camera, which is capable of capturing high-quality photos and videos. This camera is expected to perform well in various lighting conditions, making it a versatile option for photography enthusiasts. Additionally, the Meizu MX comes with 16GB of built-in storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, music, and other media. However, it is not clear if the device will support expandable storage via a microSD card, which could be a consideration for users who require more storage space.
Software and User Experience
The Meizu MX will initially ship with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, an older version of the Android operating system. While Gingerbread was a popular version of Android at the time, it lacks many of the features and improvements found in more recent versions. However, Meizu has confirmed that the device will receive an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at a later date. Ice Cream Sandwich brings a host of new features and enhancements, including a redesigned user interface, improved multitasking, and better performance.
One of the key features of Ice Cream Sandwich is the introduction of the Holo design language, which offers a more modern and visually appealing user interface. This update will also bring improved notifications, a new lock screen, and enhanced voice input capabilities. Users can expect a more polished and responsive experience once the update is available.
The Meizu MX is expected to retail for around $470 when it goes on sale in China in January. This price point positions it as a mid-range smartphone, offering a good balance of performance and features for the price. It will be interesting to see how the Meizu MX competes with other smartphones in the market, particularly those from more established brands.
