We have already seen a number of 5 inch and above smartphones this year, from the likes of Samsung, HTC, and LG, and now it looks like the latest manufacturer that is getting ready to launch a 5 inch smartphone is ZTE.
ZTE recently posted the following photo to Weibo, and also Tweeted that the device would come with a 5.9 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. What is interesting is this will not be an Android device, like the other 5 inch and above smartphones released; instead, it will be a Windows Phone.
Windows Phone 8 and Full HD Resolution
We presume this new 5.9 inch Windows Phone smartphone from ZTE will come with Windows Phone 8, although Microsoft has yet to announce support for a Full HD resolution on Windows Phone. This raises some intriguing questions about how ZTE plans to implement this feature. Windows Phone 8, known for its smooth performance and user-friendly interface, has been a popular choice among users who prefer an alternative to Android and iOS. However, the lack of official support for Full HD resolution could mean that ZTE is working closely with Microsoft to bring this feature to life.
Potential Features and Specifications
While details are still scarce, we can speculate on some potential features and specifications based on current trends and ZTE’s previous releases. The 5.9 inch display suggests that the device will be geared towards users who enjoy media consumption, gaming, and multitasking. A Full HD resolution will ensure that videos and images are sharp and vibrant, providing an excellent viewing experience.
In terms of hardware, we can expect the ZTE Windows Phone to be powered by a high-performance processor, possibly a Qualcomm Snapdragon, which is commonly used in high-end smartphones. Additionally, the device is likely to come with ample RAM, possibly 2GB or more, to ensure smooth multitasking and performance.
Camera capabilities are also an important aspect of modern smartphones. ZTE might equip this device with a high-resolution rear camera, possibly 12MP or higher, along with advanced features such as optical image stabilization, HDR, and various shooting modes. The front camera is expected to cater to the growing trend of selfies and video calls, likely featuring a wide-angle lens and decent resolution.
Battery life is another critical factor, especially for a device with a large display. We can anticipate a substantial battery capacity, possibly around 3000mAh or more, to ensure that the phone can last through a day of heavy usage. Fast charging technology might also be included to reduce downtime.
As soon as we get some more information, we will let you guys know. The anticipation surrounding this device is palpable, as it represents a significant step for both ZTE and the Windows Phone platform. If ZTE successfully integrates Full HD resolution into a Windows Phone, it could set a new standard for future devices and attract a broader audience to the platform.
