Xiaomi is set to hold an event on September 5th in New Delhi, India where the company is expected to launch its next dual-camera flagship device, the Mi 5X.
The Chinese company has also confirmed the event details on its official website as well revealing that it will take place in India.
What to Expect from the Event
The company didn’t officially reveal which smartphone it will be, but since it is talking about the dual-camera flagship, there’s a possibility that the company is talking about the Mi 5X which has the same dual-camera setup as the Mi 6. The Mi 5X is known for its impressive camera capabilities, featuring a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens, which allows for 2x optical zoom and enhanced portrait mode. This setup is similar to what is found in the Mi 6, which has been praised for its photographic prowess.
It’s worth mentioning that the Mi 6 is also available in China only. Since the company hasn’t revealed any details about the device, there’s a possibility that we may get to see a totally new device for the international market. This could mean that Xiaomi is planning to introduce a new model that caters specifically to the preferences and needs of the Indian market, which is one of the largest and most competitive smartphone markets in the world.
Xiaomi’s Strategy in India
India has become a crucial market for Xiaomi, and the company has been focusing on expanding its presence in the country. The launch of the Mi 5X, or potentially a new device, is part of Xiaomi’s strategy to capture a larger share of the Indian smartphone market. The company has been successful in India with its budget and mid-range smartphones, and the introduction of a new dual-camera flagship could help Xiaomi compete with other major players like Samsung, OnePlus, and Apple.
In addition to the dual-camera setup, the Mi 5X is expected to come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The device is also likely to feature a sleek metal unibody design, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 3080mAh battery. These specifications make the Mi 5X a strong contender in the mid-range segment, offering a good balance of performance, design, and camera capabilities.
Moreover, Xiaomi has been known for its aggressive pricing strategy, which has helped the company gain a significant foothold in the Indian market. If the Mi 5X is priced competitively, it could attract a large number of consumers looking for a feature-rich smartphone at an affordable price.
Stay tuned, we’ll update you as soon as we get to hear anything more about the launch of the device. It’s just a few weeks away.
