Xiaomi had a very successful run in India, with their Xiaomi Mi3 and Redmi 1S. We’ve also heard previously that the company plans to launch the Redmi Note phablet in India in the coming months.
Recently, the Chinese company posted a teaser on their Facebook page, which mentions Redmi Note. It’s actually a contest where the company plans to give away a Redmi Note to a lucky winner.
It also means the launch of the Redmi Note is imminent in India in the coming months. This isn’t something new, the company had posted teasers and contests in the past as well to promote their devices, including the Redmi 1S and Xiaomi Mi3.
As you may have noticed by now, Xiaomi prefers to sell one device at a time. When the company started selling Redmi 1S, they halted the sales of the Xiaomi Mi3 in the region. Same could be expected for the Redmi 1S, when the Chinese OEM starts selling the Redmi note, you can say good bye to the Redmi 1S. The company is holding a Redmi 1S sale on November 25th, and it could be the last chance for users interested in the budget-friendly device.
There’s no word about the launch of the Redmi Note, but rumors suggest it may go on sale on Tuesday, December 2nd through FlipKar — similar to previous Xiaomi devices. The handset is priced at Rs. 9,999, and offers an excellent set of specifications. There’s a 5.5-inch 720p display, a 1.7 GHz Octa-core MTK MT6592 processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 13MP back camera, 5MP front-facing camera, 3,100 mAh battery and Android Jelly Bean with MIUI on top of it.
We’ll update you as soon as the handset goes on sale in India.
