We have already seen a number of leaked images of the next major version of Windows, Windows Blue or Windows 8.1. Microsoft recently confirmed that they would be releasing Windows Blue later this year, but did not give any details on when it will arrive.
Now Microsoft has confirmed that a public preview of Windows Blue will be released in late June, so we can expect to find out more details about it at the Microsoft Build conference which takes place in the last week of June.
What to Expect from Windows Blue
Windows Blue, also known as Windows 8.1, is expected to bring a host of new features and improvements over its predecessor, Windows 8. One of the most anticipated changes is the return of the Start button, which was notably absent in Windows 8. This change is expected to make the operating system more user-friendly, especially for those who were accustomed to the traditional Windows interface.
Another significant update is the enhanced support for multi-tasking. Windows Blue is rumored to allow users to run more than two apps side by side, a feature that will be particularly useful for power users and professionals who need to manage multiple applications simultaneously. Additionally, there will be improvements in the overall performance and stability of the system, making it faster and more reliable.
Integration and Ecosystem
Windows Blue is also expected to offer better integration with other Microsoft services and products. For instance, there will be deeper integration with SkyDrive (now known as OneDrive), Microsoft’s cloud storage service. This will make it easier for users to sync their files across different devices and access them from anywhere.
Moreover, Windows Blue will likely come with updates to built-in apps such as Mail, Calendar, and Internet Explorer. These updates are expected to enhance functionality and provide a more seamless user experience. The Windows Store is also set to receive an overhaul, making it easier for users to find and download apps.
As soon as we get some more details on what will be included in Windows Blue, and also a date when Microsoft will release the full version of Windows 8.1 we will let you guys know.
