If you have an iPhone 4S or other smart device that is Bluetooth Smart ready the new Wahoo Blue HR is designed just for you. The device is designed to interface with fitness apps and send heart rate directly to them running your device.
The device allows you to use your iPhone apps, playlist, and GPS while sending the HR to the phone. The heart rate monitor will hit stores in January and will be on display at CES 2012. The device will sell for $79.99. Wahoo says that it already supports the most popular apps on the iPhone for fitness.
That includes MapMyFitness, RunKeeper, 321Run, Runmeter, and MotionX. Compatibility with other apps will be coming in 2012. The Bluetooth Smart devices need no additional hardware or key to work.
