One of the coolest vehicles that VW has ever made in the States is the classic Microbus. VW has a new concept car that is called the VW Type 20 and is based on a 1962 Type 2 11-window Microbus and uses an all-electric drivetrain. The concept has a 1 kWh battery and an electric motor that makes 120 horsepower and 173 pound-feet of torque.
The ride also has biometric identification and an integrated digital assistant. The Type 20 looks like its mostly stock, but it has lots of new parts with many of them having a 3D printed look. The concept rolls on a pneumatic suspension that allows for adjustable ride height.
The concept has a very small battery and electric motor. There is no indication of exactly how far the EV will drive per charge. The upside to a small battery is that it should charge quickly.
