Today Twitter has started to roll out a major new update for its mobile website application designed for touchscreen devices, and now uses HTML 5 together with other modern technologies. The new update brings the mobile website more in line with Twitter’s iOS and Android applications in look, feel and function giving the mobile website a much need face lift and bringing its coding more up to date.
The navigation on the new mobile Twitter web site consists of a buttons along the top enabling you to view your timeline @replies, direct messages, view lists or conduct searches. The app has also received a speed increase and you can now quickly scroll through your timeline, move between tabs and compose Tweets. Twitter is rolling out the new update to a small percentage of users on iPhone, iPod Touch, and Android smartphones to start, then to other devices in the coming weeks. More information is available from the Twitter Blog website.
