Toyota has announced an improved battery warranty for buyers of its 2020 hybrid vehicles. The previous warranty for the battery packs in the hybrid cars was for 8 years and 100,000 miles.
The new warranty sees a 24% increase in the years to 10 years and a 50% increase in miles to 150,000. The warranty update falls in line with the new standards set by CARB that require at least 10 years and 150,000 miles.
The updated warranty applies to all Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicles, as well as its fuel cell EVs. Toyota has stated that it hopes the battery warranty will help ease fears of buying a hybrid.
