Toshiba has announced the launch of a new robot vacuum cleaner, called the Smarbo, and the company is obviously looking to compete with popular devices like the Roomba and other robot vacuum cleaners, although it looks like this one may be a little more expensive than other offerings.
The Toshiba Smarbo is capable of cleaning a 100sqm room in just 90 minutes, and it comes with 38 individual sensors and two CPU’s, and it will also come with a remote control.
Advanced Features and Capabilities
The Smarbo is designed to offer a comprehensive cleaning solution with its advanced features. The 38 individual sensors allow the vacuum to navigate around obstacles, avoid stairs, and ensure thorough cleaning of the entire room. These sensors work in tandem with the dual CPUs to process information quickly and efficiently, making real-time decisions to optimize the cleaning path.
One of the standout features of the Smarbo is its ability to clean a 100sqm room in just 90 minutes. This is achieved through its powerful suction and efficient cleaning algorithms, which ensure that every corner of the room is covered. The remote control adds an extra layer of convenience, allowing users to start, stop, and schedule cleaning sessions without having to manually interact with the device.
Comparing Smarbo to Other Robot Vacuums
When compared to other robot vacuum cleaners like the Roomba, the Smarbo stands out due to its advanced sensor array and dual CPU setup. While the Roomba is known for its reliability and ease of use, the Smarbo aims to take it a step further with more intelligent navigation and faster cleaning times. However, these advanced features come at a cost, as the Smarbo is expected to retail for around $1,175, which is significantly higher than many Roomba models.
The higher price point may be justified for those who are looking for a more advanced and efficient cleaning solution. The Smarbo’s ability to quickly and thoroughly clean large areas makes it an attractive option for larger homes or offices. Additionally, the inclusion of a remote control offers a level of convenience that is not always available with other models.
Another aspect to consider is the build quality and durability of the Smarbo. Toshiba is known for producing high-quality electronics, and the Smarbo is expected to be no different. The robust design and advanced technology used in the Smarbo may result in a longer lifespan and better performance over time, which could justify the higher initial investment.
The Smarbo will be available in October and it is expected to retail for around $1,175, which is quite a bit more expensive than the other robot vacuum cleaners available today like the Roomba.
