We have been hearing various rumors about the new Sony Xperia Z3 smartphone, and now it would appear that a device with the model number D6653 has been spotted, and it could be the new flagship Sony handset.
This new Sony smartphone, with the model number D6653 was spotted on the Indonesian Postel regulatory website, this is a model number that we have not heard about previously.
The Sony Xperia Z3 is expected to come with a number of upgrades over the existing Z2 handset, the device is said to feature a 5.2 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and it is expected to be ultra thin, measuring just 7mm thick.
With the newest smartphones like the LG G3 and the Galaxy S5 LTE-A being released with a QHD display, we wonder if Sony will release the Z3 with an updated 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution display.
The handset is expected to be powered by a quad core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 805 mobile processor, and we are also expecting the device to come with 3GB of RAM.
Sony are also rumored to continue to use their Exmor RS sensor in the handset, which will mean that the device will come with a 20 megapixel camera on the back, we wonder if the front facing version will be updated beyond 2 megapixels.
As Google are expected to announce Android 5.0 at Google IO this month, we are expecting the Sony Xperia Z3 to come with Android 5.0, the device is rumored to launch at IFA 2014 in September.
