PlayStation gamers have been looking forward to a new on-demand streaming game service that Sony announced previously. The game service is called PlayStation now. Not too long ago rental prices for the games were tipped and the prices were under $6. It looks like Sony is currently testing some game rental links on the PlayStation Store.
Images of the rental links have turned up showing that testing is underway. None of the rental links are working right now and pricing for the rentals aren’t shown. The links show options for a 1-day rental, 7-day rental, and a 30-day rental. I hope that the prices tipped before are for a month’s rental of the game. It would be very expensive if $6 only got you a week with the game.
Right now, all of the links on games are listed as free. PlayStation Now is set to launch later this year. While it’s not confirmed that these rental links are part of the PlayStation now service, that would make the most sense. I hope that some of the game will rent for free. That would be a good way to get people to try the on-demand service. Word is that you will need a web connection good for at least 5Mb/s for a good experience on the on-demand service.
