Not too long ago, the folks at Sony shared some details about the upcoming PlayStation 4 Update 1.70 on their blog, along with the list of interesting new features and enhancements it will come with.
If you’re patiently waiting for the update, Sony shared some valuable details about its launch. The company mentioned on Twitter that PS4 firmware update 1.7 will go live on April 30, which is next week.
Sony said in a tweet, “Heads-up: PS4 firmware update 1.70, inc. SHAREfactory and HDCP Off, goes live on 30th April. More soon!”
The new firmware will come with a number of new features, including an all-new SHAREFactory video editor, which allows users to combine video clips, edit them, add special effects and themes, or share it with your friends on various social networks. Sony describes the new feature as:
With SHAREfactory, you can now easily combine your captured video clips for editing, personalize them with special effects using filters, transitions, and themes, as well as share them with your friends and social networks. SHAREfactory also allows you to personalize your videos by adding text, stickers, and a set of included audio tracks, as well as video commentary with picture-in-picture capability with PlayStation Camera. It also allows you to import your original music to add to the custom soundtrack for your video.
The update will come with several other features such as HDCP block removal, ability to save media to a USB drive, and much more. You’ll be able to download the update starting 30th April by going to the console settings.
