Thingiverse member MrVasily has created a small DIY home weather station powered by an Arduino NANO capable of providing up-to-the-minute readings for humidity, air pressure and temperature. The TFT screen and Arduino hardware are enclosed in a 3D printed case which is available to download directly from the Thingiverse website.
MrVasily explained that the DIY weather station project is still under development but if you are interested in learning more and building your very own Arduino weather station jump over to the Thingiverse website by following the link below.
“I present to you my project “A small home weather station.” Still in the process of debugging, but the basic idea is already ready, so I upload it all here. 🙂 A long time ago I wanted to make such a thing in my house and finally the project was completed. The main criterion for designing the case for the TFT screen was to make it as compact as possible and tilt it so that the color of the display was not distorted because it was located on the top of the wall.
A 1.8 inch TFT display is used, the cable to the screen is necessarily soldered. Without soldering a lot of distortion as the length of the cable from the Arduino to the TFT screen is 1.1 meters! Additionally, I designed one box inside which Arduino NANO and BME280 are located. In addition, I attach the code for the Arduino program, but comments are inside the code in Russian. Anyone interested can immediately download and upload to your project.”
