Samsung already have a handful of tablets under its name, but it seems the company is gearing up to launch yet another one.
Recently, an alleged Samsung tablet with a model number SM-T116 was spotted on Zauba, an imports tracking website in India.
The tablet landed in India for “testing and evaluation purposes and will be destroyed” as per the listing on Zauba. It features a 7-inch display, and features an affordable price tag, hinting at an entry-level tablet, possibly the successor of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, judging by the price tag it carries with it.
It’s not just Zauba, the alleged tablet was also spotted on GeekBench, revealing some of its specifications. Not too much is known about the tablet, but it is expected to feature a 7-inch display, a Speadtrum sc8830 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz paired with 1GB of RAM, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat as its operating system pre-installed out of the box.
There’s no word on when the tablet will launch, but it could see the light of the day at CES 2015 in Las Vegas. We’ll update you as soon as we hear anything about the tablet, or any other products Samsung plans to launch in the coming months.
