Not long now until the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus smartphone launch. Samsung is holding a press event next month at Mobile World Congress on the 25th of February.
Earlier today we saw some renders of the Galaxy S9 Plus, these showed a dual camera setup on the back of the handset with an LED flash and a fingerprint scanner under the cameras. Now a dummy unit of the Galaxy S9 has appeared on video.
In the video below we get to look at the dummy unit of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and it shows that the handset has a similar design to the renders we saw early. The camera setup on the back is similar to that of the Galaxy S9 Plus, although this handset comes with a single camera.
This ties in with previous rumors that the Galaxy S9 would have a single camera and the Galaxy S9 Plus a dual camera. Samsung recently announced its new smartphone cameras and it looks like these will play a major part in the new S9 smartphones.
The design of the handset looks similar to that of the Galaxy S8 and the handsets will also come with a similar sized display, Processing will be the Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 depending on the region and RAM is said to be 4GB for the S9 and 6GB for the S9 Plus. Storage is also rumored to start at 64GB.
The handset will also come with a fingerprint scanner, updated facial recognition and an improved Iris scanner. The device is expected to come with Android Ore, we will have more details when it is made official next month.
