Pricing has leaked that shows what is alleged to be the cost of the diesel engine option on the 2020 Jeep Wrangler. A diesel engine is something that Wrangler fans have been wanting for a long time. According to the leak, the 3.0-liter EcoDiesle will be a $4,000 option for the Wrangler.
However, the EcoDiesel will require buyers to fit the Wrangler with the 8HP75 8-speed automatic transmission that tacks on another $2,000. The EcoDiesel won’t be offered with a 6-speed manual.
The pricing shows that the EcoDiesel option would make a Wrangler with the oil burner $3,250 more than the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. EcoDiesel offers 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Production will start November 25, with order banks reportedly open now.
