I would wager that there are tons of you out there that like to watch TV in a completely dark room. I am like that, I don’t want lights on to throw a glare on the screen. Thankfully, I use a Logitech Harmony One remote control and it has backlit keys so I can see the buttons when I need to change channels.
If you use the plain remote that came with your satellite or cable box odds are, you have to fight to see the button to press. A new stocking stuffer has surfaced that will be perfect for home theater fans and geeks needing some light on their remote control. The laughs are called the Pop-up Microlites and you can get them in single or 3-packs.
The lights have 3M tape on the bottom and you stick them to the bottom of your remote control. When closed the LED light is off and when you open the thing the light comes on and shines on your remote. I will say this, they might fix a problem but they are damned ugly. You can get a single for $9.99 or three for $19.99.
