Yesterday the new 2018 Nokia 6 appeared on TENAA in China, now the regulatory authority has added some photos of the handset to its website. The picture below gives us a look at the design of the updated Nokia 6, the first generation handset can be seen above.
The new Nokia 6 will get a number of updates over the original device, the handset will come with a 5.5 inch display, the resolution is rumored to be a Full HD resolution in 1080p. The handset will apparently feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor.
Other rumored specifications on the new Nokia 6 will include 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. As we can see from the picture, there is a single camera on the back of the handset with an LED flash, under the picture there is a fingerprint scanner.
Enhanced Camera Capabilities
As yet, we do not know what sort of camera the new 2018 Nokia 6 will come with. However, it is expected that the camera will see significant improvements over its predecessor. The first-generation Nokia 6 featured a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. It is anticipated that the new model will offer enhanced camera capabilities, possibly including better low-light performance, faster autofocus, and improved image stabilization. Some rumors suggest that the rear camera could be upgraded to a 20-megapixel sensor, which would be a substantial improvement for photography enthusiasts.
Software and Additional Features
The new Nokia 6 is expected to run on the latest version of Android, likely Android 8.0 Oreo, out of the box. This will bring a host of new features and improvements, including better battery management, picture-in-picture mode, and enhanced security features. Additionally, the handset is expected to support fast charging, which will be a welcome feature for users who are always on the go.
Another notable feature is the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner, which is located on the back of the device. This will provide an added layer of security and convenience for users. The placement of the fingerprint scanner on the back is a design choice that many manufacturers are adopting, as it allows for a more seamless front display.
The new Nokia 6 is also expected to support expandable storage via a microSD card slot, allowing users to increase the storage capacity up to 256GB. This is particularly useful for those who need extra space for apps, photos, and videos.
Design and Build Quality
In terms of design, the new Nokia 6 is expected to retain the robust build quality that Nokia phones are known for. The handset will likely feature a metal unibody design, which not only looks premium but also adds to the durability of the device. The 5.5-inch display is expected to be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, providing resistance against scratches and minor drops.
The overall design of the new Nokia 6 appears to be sleek and modern, with minimal bezels around the display. This is in line with current smartphone design trends, which favor larger screens and smaller bezels. The placement of the fingerprint scanner on the back also contributes to a cleaner front design.
Launch and Availability
As for the launch date, some rumors have suggested that the handset will launch this month, while others have suggested it will launch in January. Given that the device has already appeared on TENAA, it is likely that the official launch is imminent. Once the device is officially announced, it is expected to be available in key markets shortly thereafter.
The new 2018 Nokia 6 is shaping up to be a significant upgrade over its predecessor, with improvements in display, performance, camera capabilities, and overall design. As soon as we get more details, we will let you guys know.
