A Swedish company called People Of Lava has developed a HDTV which is powered by Google’s Android OS, and will be called the Scandinavia. The Scandinavia HDTV will come in a variety of different sizes which include 42 inches, 47 inches and 55 inches, with the 42 inch model retailing for about $2,500.
Each of these new Google Android TVs will come with Android 1.5, and are powered by an 833MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor.
Advanced Specifications and Features
Other specifications include a couple of USB 2.0 ports, a DVB-T digital TV tuner, HDMI, and the ability to playback video in Full HD and 1080p. These features ensure that the Scandinavia HDTVs are not only versatile but also future-proof, catering to a wide range of multimedia needs. The inclusion of USB ports allows for easy connection of external storage devices, making it simple to view personal media collections. The DVB-T tuner ensures compatibility with digital terrestrial television broadcasts, which is a standard in many countries.
The Scandinavia HDTVs will feature a custom user interface that will let you play videos directly from YouTube, and the ability to download various Android applications from the Android Market. This integration with Android Market opens up a world of possibilities, allowing users to customize their viewing experience with apps for streaming services, games, and even productivity tools. Imagine being able to check your email, browse the web, or even play Android games on your TV.
Innovative User Experience
The company will also be launching its own application that will allow users to download free and premium applications directly to their HDTV. This proprietary app store will likely include a curated selection of apps optimized for the large screen, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable user experience. This move positions People Of Lava as not just a hardware manufacturer but also a provider of a comprehensive entertainment ecosystem.
Moreover, the custom user interface is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy for even non-tech-savvy individuals to navigate through various features and settings. The ability to stream videos directly from YouTube means that users can enjoy a vast library of content without needing additional devices or complicated setups.
