Yesterday Nokia teased a new device with a photo of a mysterious black box, well it turns out that that black was was the retail packaging for Nokia’s new Android Lollipop tablet, the Nokia N1 tablet.
The Nokia N1 Tablet comes with the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, in the form of Android 5.0 Lollipop, and the tablet features a 7.9 inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536, the display comes with Gorilla Glass 3.
“We are pleased to bring the Nokia brand back into consumers’ hands with the N1 Android tablet, and to help make sophisticated technologies simple,” said Sebastian Nyström, Head of Products at Nokia Technologies, who announced the N1 at the Slush technology conference in Helsinki. “The N1 has a delightfully intuitive interface and an industrial design to match it. This is a great product for Nokia fans and everyone who has not found the right Android tablet yet.”
Processing on the new Nokia N1 tablet comes in the form of a 2.3GHz 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor, and the device also comes with 2GB of RAM.
This new Nokia Android tablet features a 5 megapixel fixes focus 1080p front facing camera, and an 8 megapixel rear camera with auto focus.
The Nokia N1 also comes with dual band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, it features a 5300 mAh battery and as well as Android 5.0 it also comes with the Nokia Z launcher.
Nokia will launch their new Android tablet in China first, it will be made available in China in quarter one of 2015 and it will retail for $249, the company will also launch the device in other countries at a later date.
As yet Nokia have not given any details on when their new Android tablet will be launching in the U.S. and Europe, as soon as we get some more details, we will let you guys know.
