MyMiniFactory has this week unveiled a new and ambitious MyMiniFactory MP5 Project that it hopes will provide a more unified 3D printing experience that can bring all the components of 3D printing together into one unified package.
Led by Augustin Sanson, the MP5 Project is an open source platformThat is being developed to provide an easier way to both enter into the 3D printing world and also develop your skills.
MyMiniFactory explains little more about the platform :
Natural shapes with incredible topology provide infinite sources of inspiration for creative minds. 3D printing technology, as it stands, suggests that dream shapes could become reality.
Currently “the dream-to-make journey” requires mastering bricks of knowledge that aren’t compatible with each other, analogous to playing Tetris with blocks that don’t fit. Therefore very often, initial excitement becomes real disappointment.
The MP5 project is an attempt to change this – to make the blocks fit. This is a massive undertaking, and one we cannot hope to accomplish alone. We need the help of the community at large, and with you we can usher in the next wave in this movement, one that is streamlined, intuitive and holistic. Join us, and let’s change the world together.
