Motorola recently announced its new Xoom tablets, the Motorola Xoom 2 and the Xoom 2 Media Edition, and now it would appear that both of these new Android tablets will be available in the UK from next week.
According to the guys over at Clove, the Xoom 2 will be available from this Friday the 2nd of December, whilst the Xoom 2 Media Edition will be available from next Monday the 5th of December.
Motorola Xoom 2 Features and Specifications
The Motorola Xoom 2 features a 10.1 inch HD display with Gorilla Glass, which provides enhanced durability and scratch resistance. It comes with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, an operating system specifically designed for tablets, offering a user-friendly interface and improved multitasking capabilities. Under the hood, the Xoom 2 is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, ensuring smooth performance for various applications and tasks. It also includes 1GB of RAM, which aids in efficient multitasking, and 16GB of built-in storage, providing ample space for apps, media, and documents.
For photography and video calls, the Xoom 2 is equipped with a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera and a rear-facing 5 megapixel camera. The rear camera features digital zoom, an LED flash, and auto-focus, making it suitable for capturing high-quality images and videos. Additionally, the tablet boasts a 10+ hour battery life for web usage, ensuring that users can stay connected and productive throughout the day without frequent recharging.
Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition: A Compact Alternative
The Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition tablet also runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb and is powered by the same dual-core 1.2GHz processor as its larger counterpart. This version, however, features a more compact 8.2 inch HD display with Gorilla Glass, making it a more portable option for users who prefer a smaller device. Despite its reduced size, the Media Edition does not compromise on performance or features.
Similar to the Xoom 2, the Media Edition includes a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera and a rear-facing 5 megapixel camera with digital zoom, an LED flash, and auto-focus. It also comes with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, ensuring that users have sufficient memory and storage capacity for their needs. The smaller screen size makes the Media Edition ideal for media consumption, such as watching videos, reading e-books, or browsing the web on the go.
Both tablets are designed to cater to different user preferences and needs. The Xoom 2, with its larger display, is perfect for users who require a bigger screen for productivity tasks, gaming, or media consumption. On the other hand, the Xoom 2 Media Edition offers a more portable solution without sacrificing performance, making it ideal for users who are always on the move.
In addition to their impressive hardware specifications, both tablets benefit from the extensive app ecosystem available on the Android platform. Users can access a wide range of applications from the Google Play Store, including productivity tools, entertainment apps, and games, further enhancing the functionality and versatility of the Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition.
As the release dates approach, anticipation is building among tech enthusiasts and potential buyers in the UK. The availability of these tablets from Clove starting next week means that users will soon be able to experience the latest in Motorola’s tablet technology firsthand.
