Motorola confirmed its going to release the Android 5.0 Lollipop update even for the first generation Moto G, and it seems the time has arrived.
Reports suggest that Moto G (2013) in India with a model number XT1033 is now getting the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Several users on XDA forums confirmed the update is rolling out over-the-air so it shouldn’t be long before it reaches all devices.
Not too long ago, the company updated the Motorola Update Services, hinting at the imminent roll out of the latest Android update. It’s one of the most significant Android updates, and brings a handful of new features and design changes on board. There’s an all-new Material Design which improves the UI, and adds fluid animations to new application and system themes, colors and widgets.
The new update also introduces improved notifications, which will show up on the lock screen, you can manage them from the lock screen and much more. There’s a new flashlight, battery improvements, and host of other new features on board.
The update should take a few days to reach all devices so don’t panic if it’s not showing up on your smartphone. You can manually check for the update and see if it shows up.
