HSTi has unveiled their new Moboplay at CES this week, which HSTi say is the world’s smallest pocket media player, capable of playing full HD 1080p and weighing just 50 grams.
The Moboplay, which is smaller than a credit card, allows you to play media files stored on USB drives or SD cards directly to any HDTV equipped with an HDMI connection. The device will even allow you to attach larger external USB hard drives, enabling you to add your entire library to the small device. This makes it incredibly versatile for users who have extensive collections of movies, music, and photos.
Features and Capabilities
One of the standout features of the Moboplay is its ability to support a wide range of media formats. Whether you have videos in MP4, AVI, MKV, or music files in MP3, WAV, or FLAC, the Moboplay can handle them all. This flexibility ensures that you won’t need to convert your files before playback, saving you time and effort.
Additionally, the Moboplay supports high-definition video output up to 1080p, ensuring that your media looks crisp and clear on your HDTV. The device also includes a remote control, making it easy to navigate through your media library from the comfort of your couch.
Harry Diamantopoulos, Managing Director at HSTi, explains:
“During the 2011 CES show, the Wireless Media Stick™ was recognized as a revolutionary accessory for Android phones and tablets, winning awards from several technology publications. In 2012, we aspire to showcase an inexpensive portable solution for media content-producing devices like Android smartphones and tablets. Now sharing holiday videos and photos, music, and movies streamed directly from the Android device to the television set wirelessly can be a breeze, further integrating mobile devices with new and older Home Theater technologies.”
Practical Applications
The Moboplay is particularly useful for travelers and business professionals who need a portable media solution. Imagine being able to carry your entire media library in your pocket and connect it to any HDTV in a hotel room or conference center. This can be a game-changer for presentations, allowing you to showcase high-definition videos and images without the need for a bulky laptop or additional equipment.
For families, the Moboplay offers a convenient way to share media. Whether it’s watching home videos, viewing vacation photos, or listening to a music playlist, the Moboplay makes it easy to bring your digital content to the big screen. The device’s small size and lightweight design also make it an excellent option for kids’ rooms, where space might be limited.
The Moboplay is now available to purchase for $50. Check out the HSTi website for a list of worldwide stockists. This affordable price point makes it accessible for a wide range of consumers, from tech enthusiasts to casual users looking for an easy way to enjoy their media on a larger screen.
