Markus “Notch” Persson, the man behind the popular Minecraft and Mojang which is now a part of Microsoft, has set a new record in the real estate market by purchasing the most expensive mansion for a whopping $70 million.
The mansion was originally priced at $85 million, and the bidders also included Beyonce and Jay-Z, but Persson ended being the victor, and purchased the mighty mansion.
As per the press release, this is the highest price paid for house in Beverly Hill, and the transaction closed in just six days.
The mansion is equipped with a candy room, a car showroom, a 54-foot curved glass door that opens onto the pool, eight bedrooms, 15 bathrooms costing $5,600 each, and apartment sized closets.
“Markus fell in love with the house, its sleek contemporary design and its spectacular panoramic views that sweep from downtown LA to the Pacific Ocean,” noted De Los Reyes, from the firm’s Sherman Oaks office. “The fact that the house also was completely furnished in such great style was another major selling point for him.”
Markus is one of the youngest billionaires who managed to sell his game company Mojang, the creator of the popular Minecraft game, for a whopping $2.5 billion to Microsoft earlier this year.
