If you are looking for a way to transfer your physical written notes and sketches into digital documents the new Mimoto SmartPen might be worth more investigation.
The Mimoto SmartPen has been designed by Mimoto Tech based in Philadelphia in the US, whip say their device is the first smartpen that has been designed to record your handwriting in real time but also provide you with the ability to use it as a touchscreen stylus.
The Mimoto SmartPen is compatible with both Android and iOS devices as well as touchscreen monitors allowing you to use it to control games and applications on computers with ease. Watch the video below to learn more about this innovative new digital pen from its creators, who explain :
“ The Mimoto SmartPen is the only multifunctional smart pen that records hand writing in real-time and gives Old Computers touch screen capabilities. It looks and writes just like any other ballpoint pen but uses high powered ultrasound and infrared sensors, just like the once found in your popular gaming consoles to detect body motion.
We modified our sensors to detect hand and pen motion. After attaching a receiver to the top of a standard sheet of paper the Mimoto Pen’s sensors go to work and start to record your hand writing and transfer it in real-time to any one of your portable devices.”
The Mimoto SmartPen project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise $20,000 pledges to make the jump from concept to production and is already nearly half way towards its goal with 24 days still remaining of the campaign.
