Mazda unveiled a new racing car this month called the Mazda3 TCR. The race car will hit the track as part of the 2020 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge starting with a four-hour endurance race during the Rolex 24 weekend on January 26, 2020.
The car is based on the 2019 Mazda3 hatchback and is compliant with all TCR racing regulations. The car uses a turbo 4-cylinder engine that makes 350 horsepower and has a paddle-shift 6-speed transmission. The car is homologated to compete in any of the 36 TCR-sanctioned champions glocally.
That’s all the detail that Mazda has given about the car for now. We don’t know how much it costs or what other features it has. You can bet it has a roll cage, racing seats, and harnesses inside.
