Microsoft has already announced that most of the Windows Phone devices will get the Windows 10 as an update once it launches publicly later this year, but some of the features may be restricted to specific devices due to hardware limitations.
According to a video featuring General Manager of Microsoft’s Scandinavian division Ossi Korpela, Lumia 640 will be one of the first few devices to get Windows 10.
Microsoft announced the Lumia 640 and the bigger Lumia 640 XL at the Mobile World Congress in March. Both devices are available for sale in most countries, carrying an affordable price tag. So, this is an excellent news for those who have already purchased the Lumia 640.
As for its bigger sibling, we’re hopeful that it will also get the Windows 10 update shortly after the Lumia 640, or may be at the same time, but it’s not confirmed at the moment.
Microsoft is expected to launch the Windows 10 operating system later this summer. It is expected to launch for the desktop at first, followed by the launch of the Windows 10 for phones.
We’ll update you as soon as we hear anything about the launch of Windows 10.
