A new lightweight bike lock has been created by designer Neil Barron based in the United Kingdom in the form of the Litelok Silver. The design of the bike lock is so light you can wear it as a belt while you cycle. “A premium, flexible, easy to use bike lock, made in Britain using cutting edge manufacturing and innovative materials.” Watch the promotional video below to learn more about its design and security features. “Litelok Silver is the world’s lightest Silver bike lock range ever made”.
Litelok Silver comes in three different sizes:
52cm (20.5 in) weighing 630g / 1.4 lb
70cm (27.5 in) weighing 730g / 1.6 lb
85cm (33.5 in) weighing 830g / 1.8 lb
“Many silver security standard bike locks are heavy, awkward to carry, tricky to use, rattle &/or corrode because they’re mainly imported from factories who use cheap, low grade materials. Chains & armoured cables are flexible but awkward and heavy to carry if you want any level of security.
U/D locks’ small size & inflexibility means that they only provide limited locking options plus they can be difficult to use in crowded bike parks and often end up rattling on your bike. Folding locks can be fiddly to use, have limited durability and the plates and the rivets are susceptible to attack from common tools like bolt croppers and drills. Have you ever tried fitting a U/D lock around a tree or lamp post? You’ve probably tried it once and realised it’s not possible. The flexibility of Litelok Silver gives you more places to lock your bike around than a rigid lock”
