Lamborghini has announced a new hybrid supercar that pairs its iconic V12 engine with a hybrid design that doesn’t need a battery. The car is called the Lamborghini Sian, and the car has 819 hp combined. Lambo uses a small 48V e-motor that delivers 34 hp and is integrated into the gearbox.
The electric motor uses a supercapacitor to ladle in its additional power when needed. The electric motor can power the car in slow-speed maneuvers like parking and backing up on electricity alone.
Pricing on the car is unannounced. Only 63 units will be made, and all 63 cars are sold. The Sian will reach 100 km/h in under 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of over 350 km/h.
