Kingston Digital has this week announced the availability of its new range of UV500 solid state drive (SSD) offering 20 GB, 240 GB, 480 GB, 960 GB and 1920 GB capacities depending on your needs and budget. Designed to “dramatically improves a system’s overall responsiveness with incredible boot” the new drives offer 256-bit AES hardware-based encryption and supports TCG Opal 2.0.
The new drives will be Kingston’s first 3D NAND-enabled SSD featuring full-disk encryption and are powered by the Marvell 88SS1074 controller which is combined with 3D NAND Flash two delivers read/write speeds of up to 520 MB/s and 500 MB/s respectively all backed by a limited five-year warranty and is available in three different form factors 2.5″, M.2 2280, mSATA to accommodate any client system.
