The Keyport Slide is already a rad gadget to begin with, being a slidable port for your keys. A recent variant even included a USB stick. Still more recent is the Keyport Slide that comes with a LED flashlight–it’s pictured below. Now if it only had a 3-inch blade you’ll be ready to go on secret missions.
According to the official site, the Keyport Slide is cooler than most pocket accoutrements by virtue of its size: smaller than an iPod, your credit card, and your car keys. But what it lacks in size it more than makes up for with utility. Simply put, the Keyport is a handy tool to have for any occasion. No wonder they attached a LED light on it. Below is a decent write up from the Keyport blog about why they’re better than a set of jangling, dangling keys on a chain:
“At Keyport, we are not immune to the $80 key holder comment. We give considerable thought to our pricing, and it is our sincere hope that all of our customers feel that the product’s value far exceeds the dollar cost. However, we are not sure that comparing the cost of a fully loaded Keyport to a traditional keychain is a true apples-to-apples comparison. It’s a bit like saying, ‘I can’t believe you purchased an iPhone when my rotary phone makes phone calls too and didn’t cost me $299.’ ”
