Display and Performance
As a reminder, the handset comes with a 6.1-inch display that has a Full HD+ resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels. This high-resolution display ensures that users get a crisp and vibrant visual experience, whether they are watching videos, playing games, or browsing the web. The display also supports HDR10, which enhances the color and contrast of the content, making it more lifelike and immersive.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is powered by the Kirin 980 processor, which is Huawei’s first 7nm chipset. This advanced processor not only provides faster performance but also improves energy efficiency, allowing the device to handle demanding tasks with ease while conserving battery life. The Kirin 980 is equipped with a dual NPU (Neural Processing Unit), which enhances AI capabilities, enabling features like real-time language translation, AI-driven photography, and more.
Memory and Storage
There is also 6GB of RAM and 128GB of included storage, which should be more than sufficient for most users. The ample RAM ensures smooth multitasking and quick app launches, while the generous storage capacity allows users to store a large number of photos, videos, apps, and other data. For those who need even more storage, the Mate 20 Pro supports expandable storage via a Nano Memory card, which is Huawei’s proprietary memory card format.
Camera Capabilities
One of the standout features of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is its camera system. On the rear of the handset, there are three cameras: a 40-megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor. This versatile camera setup allows users to capture stunning photos in a variety of scenarios, from wide landscapes to detailed close-ups. The camera system also supports 3x optical zoom and 5x hybrid zoom, enabling users to get closer to their subjects without losing image quality.
On the front of the device, there is a 24-megapixel camera for selfies and video chat. This high-resolution front camera ensures that users can take sharp and detailed selfies, and it also supports AI-driven features like portrait mode and beauty mode, which enhance the quality of the photos.
Additional Features
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro also comes with a range of additional features that enhance its usability and functionality. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor, which allows users to unlock the device quickly and securely by placing their finger on the screen. The device also supports 3D facial recognition, providing an additional layer of security.
The Mate 20 Pro is equipped with a large 4,200mAh battery, which provides excellent battery life, allowing users to go through a full day of heavy usage without needing to recharge. The device also supports fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging, which allows it to charge other devices wirelessly.
In terms of software, the Mate 20 Pro runs on EMUI, which is Huawei’s custom skin based on Android. EMUI offers a range of customization options and additional features, such as gesture navigation, a dark mode, and more.
Overall, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a feature-packed flagship smartphone that offers impressive performance, a versatile camera system, and a range of additional features that enhance its usability and functionality.
