HTC has been focusing its efforts to make sure its flagship device gets the Android 4.4 KitKat update, and kicked off the roll out for the device a few weeks back.
For those of you who are rocking the oversized HTC One Max, you be glad to find out that Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 5.5 UI is rolling out for the phablet in Hong Kong, which means it won’t be long for other regions to get the choclaty taste of Android 4.4 KitKat on their phablets.
The news came from the popular HTC ROM developer who goes by the name of LlabTooFer, and tweeted that HTC One Max is receiving the update with ROM version 2.61.708.1.
For those who needs a refresher, a HTC update roadmap was leaked a few days back, which mentioned that HTC One Max should get the Android 4.4 KitKat update with Sense 5.5 by mid-February. It seems it is correct, and if it’s rolling out in Hong Kong, it shouldn’t take too much time for it to arrive in US. It may not be mid-February, but it could launch in March, as the update has to pass carrier certification before it’s rolled out to customers.
And, after taking a closer look at the , it shows Verizon HTC One Max has entered certification, while Sprint lists it under the “integration” phase. So it shouldn’t be long the update process kicks off in the U.S.
We’ll update you as soon as the update process begins in the U.S. and other regions.
