Yesterday, HTC USA confirmed Android 4.4 KitKat has entered carrier certification for all four major US carriers, which suggests that it won’t take too much time for the magical notification to appear on the screen.
Recently, a known HTC leaker who goes by the name of LlabTooFer has leaked HTC Android KitKat update roadmap that contains information about the roll out of the latest operating system for various HTC handsets, and whether all of them will get the taste of KitKat or not.
As promised, HTC has delivered the final build to the carriers for testing and adding their own customizations. which might take a few days or may be weeks to completely roll out. The leaked roadmap also shares another interesting bit of information, the roll out of Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 6.0 UI, which will take place in late summers.
The latest Android 4.4 KitKat update with Sense 5.5 UI for HTC One Max and HTC One Mini is under testing, and is expected to release by mid-February. On the other hand, the Android KitKat update is cancelled for the Verizon Droid DNA, it’s worth noting that it’s expected to roll out for HTC Butterfly and Butterfly S by the end of April, which should calm some Butterfly users.
Let’s just hope the roadmap is correct. But, it’s better to wait for the Taiwanese OEM to shed some light on the roll out of Android KitKat update for other handsets in its portfolio.
