This confirmation is great news for HTC One M8 owners who were concerned about being left out of the latest Android updates. The Android M update, also known as Android 6.0 Marshmallow, brings a host of new features and improvements to the operating system, including better app permissions, a new power management feature called Doze, and support for fingerprint sensors.
Expected Features and Improvements
The Android M update is expected to enhance the overall user experience on the HTC One M8. One of the most anticipated features is the improved app permissions system, which allows users to have more control over the data and functions that apps can access. This means that users can now choose to grant or deny specific permissions to apps, enhancing privacy and security.
Another significant feature is Doze, a power-saving mode that helps extend battery life by putting the device into a deep sleep state when it is not in use. This can be particularly beneficial for HTC One M8 users who have been experiencing battery drain issues.
Additionally, Android M introduces native support for fingerprint sensors, which can be used for unlocking the device and authorizing payments. While the HTC One M8 does not have a built-in fingerprint sensor, this feature highlights the direction in which Android is heading, emphasizing security and convenience.
As yet there are no details on when the Android M update will be released for the HTC One M9. The update will land some time after Google releases Android M, which is expected to happen some time this fall. HTC typically follows Google’s release schedule closely, so it is likely that the update for the HTC One M8 will be rolled out shortly after the official release of Android M.
In the meantime, HTC One M8 users can look forward to a more refined and feature-rich operating system that promises to enhance the overall performance and usability of their devices. As soon as we get some more details, we will let you guys know.
