There’s no shortage of keyboard apps in the Google Play Store, but the most popular ones like Swype and Swiftkey, but they come with a cost. There’s another decent keyboard app which is free, and is preferred by many Android users out in the wild. It’s Google Keyboard.
If you happen to be a regular user of the Google Keyboard app, you be glad to find out it has received an update that brings a number of bug fixes and enhancements to the keyboard app.
Along with the usual bug fixes and improvements, the update includes quick access to the keyboard from emoji tab as well as quick access to the keyboard settings by long press on the mic icon on the keyboard.
These are just the usual enhancements, the most notable feature in the update are Personalized Suggestions, which means the app can mine data from other Google apps installed on the device, and provide users with better suggestions when typing. The data they mine is stored in the device, and upon updating, the app will show you a message to let you know about the personalized suggestions and the way it does so.
If you want, you can disable the personalized suggestion option from the keyboard settings, in case you feel its not useful for you.
Head over to the Google Play Store and download Google Keyboard.
