The wait is over: Google today introduces its smart speakers in the Netherlands. Google Home and Google Home Mini, containing the Dutch Google Assistant, can now be ordered online and will be available from 24 October. With a simple voice command, Google Home connects every household to the internet. Simply say “Hey Google” or “Oké Google” to search the web, check your calendar, control smart lights, set timers and alarms, and play your favorite music and series, while literally keeping your hands free for other affairs.
The Google Home will set you back €149 and the Home Mini €59 when the devices go on sale later this month.
Features and Capabilities of Google Home Devices
Google Home and Google Home Mini are designed to be the central hub of your smart home. These devices are equipped with Google Assistant, which allows users to perform a variety of tasks using voice commands. For instance, you can ask Google Assistant to provide weather updates, play music, control smart home devices like lights and thermostats, and even manage your daily schedule.
One of the standout features of Google Home is its ability to integrate with various streaming services. Users can stream music from platforms like Spotify, Pandora, and YouTube Music. Additionally, Google Home can control video playback on compatible devices, such as Chromecast, allowing you to watch your favorite shows and movies hands-free.
Expanding Market Reach
The launch of Google Home and Google Home Mini in the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden marks a significant expansion for Google. By introducing these devices in more countries, Google aims to tap into new markets and provide more users with the convenience of smart home technology. This expansion is particularly noteworthy because it includes localized versions of Google Assistant, which can understand and respond in the native languages of these countries.
For example, in the Netherlands, users can interact with Google Assistant in Dutch, making the experience more intuitive and user-friendly. This localization effort demonstrates Google’s commitment to making its technology accessible and useful to a global audience.
Moreover, the competitive pricing of these devices makes them an attractive option for consumers looking to enhance their smart home setup without breaking the bank. The Google Home, priced at €149, offers robust functionality, while the more affordable Home Mini, at €59, provides a compact and cost-effective alternative.
The introduction of Google Home and Google Home Mini in the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden is a strategic move by Google to expand its presence in the smart home market. With their advanced features, seamless integration with various services, and localized support, these devices are poised to become essential tools for modern households in these countries.
