Gemballa made its name tuning Porsche cars. It’s stepping away from the tuner designation and wants to become an automaker. It has announced that it will produce its own supercar. There isn’t much in the way of details on the car right now.
A preview sketch was released that looks very cool. The car is expected to be track-focused with a mid-engine layout. Gemballa is working on securing financing for the project, and the final design will be revealed soon. Gemballa says the car will have over 800 hp and promises it will be “uncompromising vehicle, radical, pure and luxurious.”
No performance specs were offered, but the car will have to be faster that Gemballa’s Porsche models. A 911 Turbo tuned by Gemballa can do 0-62 mph in 2.38 seconds and has a 230 mph top speed. The first prototype is promised next year with production in 2022.
